After tremendous pressure generated over the weekend, the DPCA Board and Top 20 Committee has unanimously reversed the unwritten and unpublished “Rule” that prohibited absent Top 20 dogs from being honored and receiving their Top 20 ribbon in the ring. We are pleased to say that this is not just applicable to Reign, it is applicable to ALL DOGS.
Reign for Change would like to take the opportunity to thank the DPCA Board and Top 20 Committee for reconsideration of this rule. Quite frankly, it should have never been implemented.
Most importantly, we want to thank YOU! The power behind Reign for Change is the passion and energy each and every one of you has for the DOGS. You ushered in change and reversed a rule that should have never been implemented. Kudos to you all! We are so appreciative and thankful for your commitment to us, Reign, and Reign for Change. Your support during these twelve difficult months has been immeasurable.
We would also like to thank the few individuals who worked tirelessly over the weekend tonight to right this wrong. Rather than list individuals here, you know who you are and we are grateful.
We would also like to give thanks and appreciation to other breed dog clubs across the Nation and Canada that have reached out to support us over the weekend. Again, words can’t express our gratitude.
Every single dog, whether present or absent, achieved the results and success. The breeders, owners, and professional handlers of those dogs deserve the same recognition and honor. Period. The fact a Top 20 dog is absent from the Top 20 event does not erase or minimize their success and achievement.
Finally, please stop emailing DPCA Board and Committee members. In the future, we request when an issue arises that Reign for Change champions, that communications be professional and respectful.
Be proud. We’ve made change!
