Thank you for finding our site. Reign for Change is a Nonprofit organization with a clear mission of advocating for heightened awareness for safety of ALL DOGS. The organization was inspired by the stunning and tragic death of a rising Doberman show dog named, Reign.
Reign was a 2 1/2 year old Doberman who rose to prominence at just 6 months and 1 day old at the 2023 Doberman National. In AKC conformation, dogs must be at least six months old. At the 2023 Doberman National, at the Regional, Reign made it by one day. It was her first competitive show. She stunned the Doberman National but winning Best of Winners at the Regional. Reign went one to become an AKC Champion, AKC Grand Champion, and AKC Grand Champion Bronze at just 2 1/2 years old. She rose in the rankings to become the #5 Doberman in the nation in the Doberman Pinscher Club of America’s Top 25.
On August 10, 2025, while at a show in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Reign was in the custody and control of a prominent professional handler. The professional handler was also in the process of whelping her own litter. While at the shows in Lebanon, PA, the professional handler chose to go home because her dog was in labor. She took Reign home with her. When she arrived at home, she negligently left Reign in her personal vehicle, non-operational, for four hours. Reign tragically died of a grueling and devastating heat related death. Her death stunned the show world and lit a fiery call for change to protect these precious dogs.
Reign for Change honors the short, but incredible life of a sensational girl. Her death may have lit a fiery spark for change but left her family completely devastated. It led to the creation of this organization to heighten aware for safety and concern for ALL DOGS, well beyond the competitive world. Dogs can’t speak for themselves. They can’t fight for themselves. They rely on us to protect and care for them. We must rise to the challenge to see, feel, hear, and understand that they are not “just dogs”.
You see, Reign’s show dog life was a tiny facet of what she meant to her family. Very tiny. The family lost a family member. Reign was in the custody and control of a professional for the sake of the Doberman breed. She was entrusted. Yet, that trust crumbled on August 10, 2025. Enough is enough. These stories are way too common. From death to neglect, to abuse, enough is enough. We will advocate for and be their voice for change. That is who we are. Join our movement.
